Das Schiff De Luciana wurde in 1916 gebaut. Das Schiff De Luciana wurde 1916 in den Niederlanden als segelnder Heringlogger ohne Motor gebaut. Im Jahr 1928 wurde das Schiff nach Schweden verkauft und fuhr bis weit in die siebziger Jahre hinein als Frachtschiff durch die skandinavischen Gewässer. Seit 1982 ist es als segelndes Passagierschiff mit Hilfsmotor in Benutzung. Im Winter liegt De Luciana vertäut im Fährhafen mitten in Rotterdam, nur einen Steinwurf von der Stelle entfernt, wo das Wassertaxi zum Hotel "New York" anlegt. Sie haben von hier aus eine herrliche Aussicht auf die neue Erasmusbrücke und den "Kop van Zuid", das auch das Manhattan an der Maas" genannt wird.
